Race f1 2026 – Round 12

Alonso finishes P9 at “the Dutch GP” to score two points

24th Aug 2026:

The Dutch Grand Prix, Round 12 of the Formula 1 season, took place at Circuit Zandvoort.

The race began in damp conditions, with Fernando Alonso starting P18 and Lance Stroll P19. After a difficult opening, Stroll gained two places before Alonso moved ahead at Turn 7.

Following a red flag caused by Max Verstappen’s crash, both Aston Martin drivers restarted from P14 and P17. Stroll pitted early for Hard tyres but later retired after struggling for pace.

Alonso managed his tyres effectively and climbed to P8 before pitting on Lap 34. He recovered to P11 with a pass on Alexander Albon and moved into the top 10 after further pit stops by rivals.

Holding ninth to the chequered flag, Alonso completed the race on a one-stop strategy to score his second points finish of the season, earning two points.

Herlings Dominates One-on-One Battle to Secure Another Dutch GP Win

23rd August 2026:

Once again, Honda HRC PETRONAS rider Jeffrey Herlings dominated the MXGP of the Netherlands, following his qualification win with two hard-fought victories in Arnhem. The Dutchman has now won 14 consecutive races and leads the 2026 MXGP Championship by 143 points with three rounds remaining. His pace was exceptional, lapping up to eighth and seventh and running four seconds faster than the third-fastest rider, as he secured his 17th home GP victory in front of a jubilant crowd.

Tom Vialle claimed his third podium in four rounds, improving throughout the weekend with 7-4-3 finishes. Ruben Fernandez showed strong pace but a crash in Race 1 forced a DNF, while another fall in Race 2 dropped him to seventh. Valerio Lata also impressed on the challenging sand, finishing fifth in Race 1 and eighth in Race 2.

With three rounds remaining in Turkey, China and Australia, the team now faces a demanding triple-header, with Turkey potentially deciding the championship.
