Honda Celebrates IndyCar Championship, Kirkwood Earns Runner-Up Finish
7th September 2026: Kyle Kirkwood led Honda’s charge at the Mission Grand Prix of Monterey, finishing second and securing the runner-up spot in the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship—the best result of his career. The Andretti Global driver claimed two wins during the season.
Honda also completed a clean sweep of the 2026 championships and the Indianapolis 500 after Dennis Hauger secured Rookie of the Year honours. It marks Honda’s 12th rookie title in the past 14 seasons and the manufacturer’s 12th overall championship.
Honda achieved the rare feat of winning all three championships and the Indy 500 for the second consecutive year, becoming the first manufacturer to accomplish the sweep twice since multi-manufacturer competition returned in 2012.
Alex Palou, who secured his fifth championship and fourth straight title before the season finale, led Honda’s campaign with six wins. Honda finished the season with 10 victories and 13 poles from 18 races.
At Laguna Seca, Felix Rosenqvist finished fourth, followed by Marcus Armstrong in seventh, Palou eighth, Marcus Ericsson ninth and Kyffin Simpson 10th.

Toni Bou Makes History with exceptional 40th World Title
6th September 2026: Toni Bou has added another remarkable chapter to his legendary career, securing his 20th TrialGP World Championship and reaching an incredible total of 40 world titles across outdoor TrialGP and X-Trial competition.
The Repsol Honda HRC rider has dominated the sport since claiming his first two world crowns in 2007, his debut season with the team. Across two decades, Bou has continually adapted to new rivals, evolving machinery and changing competition formats while maintaining his position at the top.
His 2026 TrialGP campaign has once again underlined that dominance. Bou has remained unbeaten throughout the season, building a commanding championship advantage and securing the title with his winning streak intact.
His career statistics are equally extraordinary. In X-Trial, Bou has recorded 99 victories and 117 podiums from 129 appearances, while his outdoor TrialGP record stands at 175 wins and 234 podium finishes in 290 starts.
Since joining Repsol Honda HRC in 2007, Bou has won every TrialGP and X-Trial World Championship he has contested. Now 39, the Spaniard stands alone as the most successful rider in motorcycle history, with his remarkable reign showing no signs of slowing down.
Herlings Seals Sixth MXGP World Title With 17th Straight Race Win
6th September 2026: Honda HRC PETRONAS rider Jeffrey Herlings delivered another dominant performance at the MXGP of Türkiye, going 1-1 to secure his sixth World Championship and extend his winning streak to 17 races.
Herlings sealed the title in the opening moto after taking the holes hot and leading from start to finish. With the championship secured, he showed no signs of slowing down in race two, again taking the holeshot and holding off teammate Tom Vialle by just 0.499 seconds. The result gave Herlings the overall victory, with Vialle finishing runner-up.
Ruben Fernandez also showed impressive determination after his crash the previous day, battling inside the top 10 in both motos despite losing a few positions late in each race.
The team now turns its attention to Shanghai, China, for the penultimate round of the season. Herlings will look to extend his unbeaten run, while Vialle aims to end the streak and move into fourth in the championship standings.

Mixed Fortunes for Honda HRC as Top 10 potential for Dixon and Chantra Claims Points at Magny-Cours on Sunday
6th September 2026: Honda HRC has completed the French WorldSBK round at Nevers Magny-Cours, with Jake Dixon and Chantra competing in both Sunday races under warm and sunny conditions.
Dixon started the ten-lap Superpole Race from P10 and made a strong opening lap to move into ninth. However, after saving a near-crash, he ran off track and rejoined in P16, eventually recovering to finish 14th. Chantra, who started 16th, also fought back after losing ground early on to finish 17th.
In the final race, Dixon started P11 and quickly moved into the top ten before a crash at Turn 13 on lap 11 ended his race. He was unhurt. Chantra recovered from a difficult start to climb into the points and ultimately finished 14th. The race was stopped after 19 laps by a red flag following another rider’s crash.
Honda HRC will next head to the Cremona Circuit in Italy for testing on 9-10 September, ahead of the WorldSBK round at the same venue on 25-27 September.
