Honda Racing Highlights: Verstappen Closes Championship Gap, Mir Podiums in MotoGP, Bou and Marcelli Extend X-Trial Lead

  1. MotoGp Malaysia

Mir Claims Second Podium in Malaysia as Marini Secures Strong Top-Ten Finish

27th October 2025: – Joan Mir delivered another outstanding performance for the Repsol Honda Team, charging through the field to secure a well-deserved third place at the Malaysian Grand Prix — his second podium in the recent flyaway races. Demonstrating determination and race craft, Mir fought past Fabio Quartararo before closing in on the leading group. A late technical issue ahead promoted the Spaniard onto the podium, marking a significant milestone as he more than doubles his total points from the previous two seasons combined. Teammate Luca Marini also impressed with a solid ride to eighth place. Despite an early mistake that dropped him into a tight mid-pack battle, Marini regained composure to pull clear of Johann Zarco and claim vital championship points, further closing the gap in the fight for top Honda honours. With just two rounds remaining in the 2025 MotoGP World Championship, Honda heads to Portugal in strong form and renewed confidence as Mir and Marini look to finish the season on a high.

2. X-Trial 2026, Madrid

Repsol Honda HRC scored another one-two finish

27th October 2025: Repsol Honda Team continued their dominant start to the 2026 X-Trial World Championship with another commanding performance in Madrid, securing a second consecutive 1–2 finish. Following their season-opening success in Andorra, Toni Bou and Gabriel Marcelli once again showcased their class in front of an enthusiastic home crowd. Determined to make amends after a narrow defeat in his last Madrid appearance, Bou was in exceptional form from the outset — collecting just one penalty point in qualifying before  setting the fastest Super Section time at 32 seconds. In the final, the 38-time World Champion displayed his trademark composure under pressure, finishing with only two penalty points to claim back-to-back victories despite not being at full fitness. Teammate Gabriel Marcelli continued his impressive run of form, riding with precision and confidence throughout the event. After qualifying third and posting a strong Super Pole time of 35 seconds, Marcelli battled fiercely in the final to secure second place — his second consecutive podium alongside Bou.

3. MEXICO, FORMULA 1 GP

Verstappen Battles to Brilliant Podium in Mexico, Closes Championship Gap

October 27th 2025 – Oracle Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen delivered a determined and strategic drive to claim third place at the Mexican Grand Prix, showcasing his trademark grit and consistency in front of a passionate crowd at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Starting from fifth, the Dutchman made an aggressive start and recovered swiftly after running wide at Turn 1, steadily carving through the field to secure another valuable podium finish. His late-race push brought him within just 0.725 seconds of second-placed Charles Leclerc, underlining his relentless pursuit of championship points.

With only four rounds remaining in the 2025 Formula 1 season, Verstappen’s result tightens the Drivers’ Championship battle — reducing his gap to the McLaren duo ahead, as Lando Norris claimed victory and the overall lead from teammate Oscar Piastri by a single point.

Teammate Yuki Tsunoda showed competitive pace but narrowly missed out on the top ten, finishing 11th. Meanwhile, Visa Cash App Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar crossed the line 13th, with teammate Liam Lawson retiring early due to first-lap damage.
