April 1^st  2023, Dubai: Honda Motor Company (Middle East and Africa) introduced the Fastest Civic Type R ever! The 2023 Civic Type R, a first in the region expands Honda’s lineup with the HALO model. The Civic Type R – a name inexorably linked with racing, quickly gained a legendary reputation when it was originally unleashed into the world. Born from Honda’s unrelenting desire to redefine true sports performance and complete driving enjoyment, it has become a true icon. 

Exterior Design: Styled for Speed

The Civic Type R exterior styling is race design inspired with beautifully integrated advanced aerodynamics giving it a sleeker, more sophisticated, yet muscular look. With active inputs from the Honda Racing Development Sakura Super GT team, the Civic Type R is more aerodynamically efficient, generating more downforce improving high speed stability. It also incorporates some ingenious aerodynamic designs to clean the air around the front and rear fenders to maximize grip and handling. The front bumper incorporates air channeling to the front discs, preventing brake fade and improving stopping power. Some of the distinct exterior features of the Civic Type R are:

Rear Spoiler: By adopting an aluminum die-cast base for the rear spoiler, downforce has been increased while suppressing air resistance.

• Air Bags: 10 airbags are a standard fit on the Type R Civic. New front airbags for both the driver and passenger are designed to reduce head rotation, especially in oblique or offset collisions. The passenger-side front airbag uses a three-chamber design to achieve a similar result, with two outer chambers designed to cradle and control head rotation. The Type R is equipped with side and side curtain airbags for that extra protection during high speeds.

• Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA): During high speed, if a driver makes a sudden steering movement to avoid an accident, the vehicle could flip over. To prevent this and keep control of the vehicle when cornering, braking is applied to the front and rear wheels individually to the inside wheel of a turn.This helps you to remain stable on sharp turns and bends, minimizing understeering, or oversteering or conditions (Driver will see VSA light flashing)

Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™): To help reduce the likelihood of a frontal impact, the Collison Mitigation Braking System™ helps to bring the car to a stop if the system determines that a collision with a vehicle detected in front or a pedestrian is unavoidable. A warning sounds, and if necessary, brake pressure is automatically applied.

Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM): Road Departure Mitigation System uses the windscreen-mounted camera to detect whether the car is veering out of its lane. It applies subtle corrections to keep the vehicle in its lane, and in certain situations can also apply braking force and provide a tactile warning.

Lane Keeping Assist System: Helps keep you in the middle of your lane, providing a less stressful driving experience by reducing the need for steering correction movements and driving effort on the motorway.

Lane Departure Warning: If the car moves out of its lane without you activating the indicator, then alerts will flash and sound, to help bring your attention to correcting the lane drift.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), allows the driver to set a desired speed and following distance from a vehicle detected ahead, allowing the Accord to adjust its speed automatically for a safe and comfortable journey.
