New upgrades included in 2020 Year Model 1.6L Civic :
30th October 2019: Honda Motor Co. Africa and Middle East Office announced the start of sales of the upgraded 2020 Year Model Civic 1.6L today. The newly introduced 2020 Year Model 1.6L Honda Civic has three grades namely DX, LX and LX Sport which provides different options for the different needs of the C Segment Customer.
The Honda Civic is a dynamic and sophisticated four-door sedan which stays true to the original Civic concept of ‘otokomae’ which means embodiment of a sense of grace and elegance as well as an inner beauty. It is a marriage of distinctive design, sporty styling and versatile practicality – with a renewed focus on rewarding driving dynamics. It represents a significant step forward for Honda in the segment. The 2020 Year Model Civic 1.6L emphasizes the importance of class leadership as well as meeting customer requirements for fuel efficiency, new thinking in terms of design and advancement in vehicle aerodynamics.
Exterior Styling:
The Civic has been engineered to fulfil the promise of agile and rewarding dynamics. A lightweight, highly rigid bodyshell – the product of innovative new engineering and construction techniques – complements the lower center of gravity and a sophisticated new suspension system in contributing directly to an engaging and fun driving experience.
The 2020 Year Model 1.6L Civic has refreshed exterior with a new design of the Chrome Grille for the DX and LX grades and a Dark Chrome Grille for the LX Sport. Other features include Chrome Door Handles for the DX and LX, Dark Chrome Door Handles for the LX Sport, LED Daytime Running Lights, Rear Decklid Spoiler, New Fog Garnish, Updated Rear Grille Design, Material Black Lower Bumper and New 17” Alloy Wheel Design for the LX Sport Grade.
Interior Styling:
The 2020 Year Model 1.6L Civic interior has the same comfort, sophistication and premium cabin space as the 2.0L and RS models. The 2020 Year Model 1.6L Civic now comes with a stylish seat trim material in the LX and LX Sport Grades. It also offers auto air-conditioning, rear ventilation in all grades, steering wheel mounted controls for Bluetooth Hands Free Telephone (HFT), a 5-inch touch screen audio and USB jacks. Some standard features in all grades include 60:40 fold down rear seats, rear seat armrest with cup holders, sun visor extension mechanism and map light.
The 2020 Year Model 1.6L Civic LX Sport Grade features include Wide View Rear Camera, Sports Pedals and Steering Wheel Mounted Paddle Shifters to control the shifting up and down of the transmission, providing a sporty and engaging drive.
Convenience features in the LX grade and above include Smart Entry, Push Button Start, and Remote Engine Starter which starts engine from a distance thereby ensuring that the air-conditioning is switched on and cabin temperature is at maximum comfort before you get in. All grades have Rear Parking Sensors, Electric Power Steering, Auto headlight off timer, Electric Parking Brake with Brake Hold Function that replaces the conventional handbrake lever with compact, easy to operate switch.
Powertrain:
Powering the 2020 Year Model Civic 1.6L is the SOHC i-VTEC engine producing a peak horsepower of 123@6500 rpm and a torque of 15.4 kg-m@4300 rpm.
The engine is mated to a new generation Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The Civics’ CVT has a taller final gear ratio for fuel-efficient low-rpm cruising, and new-generation G-Design shift logic for smooth acceleration and natural throttle response.
