Honda Dominates Iowa with First Podium Sweep of 2025 INDYCAR Season

13th July 2025: Honda claimed their first podium sweep of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season at Iowa Speedway, with Alex Palou taking a commanding victory from pole in the Farm to Finish 275—his seventh win of the year. The triumph means Palou has now won on every major circuit type this season: street, road, speedway, and now short oval.

Scott Dixon finished second, making it a 1-2 finish for Chip Ganassi Racing, and Marcus Armstrong of Meyer Shank Racing secured third—his first podium of the season—completing the Honda lockout.

Further strengthening their dominance, Honda has now won 11 of 12 races in 2025 and extended their lead in the Manufacturer Championship to 208 points over Chevrolet. Palou now leads the Drivers’ Championship by a substantial 129 points.

    Misfortune

13th July 2025: The German GP brought both highs and heartbreak for Honda HRC Castrol. Luca Marini delivered a season-best performance, surging from 15th to finish sixth after a gritty ride through the field, marking his strongest result yet with the team. Meanwhile, teammate Joan Mir showed strong pace and was set for a top-ten finish before a collision with Ogura’s stray bike ended his race prematurely. Despite the setback, Mir escaped injury. The team now looks ahead to the returning Brno round in Czechia.

Hard weekend for Honda HRC in Finland

13th July 2025: Honda HRC riders Ruben Fernandez and Valerio Lata endured a challenging weekend at the sandy KymiRing in Finland, both facing setbacks that impacted their championship progress. Fernandez, coming off a strong qualifying performance, showed great pace in both races but was ultimately sidelined in Race 2 due to bike damage from a collision. Lata, meanwhile, struggled to find rhythm on the unfamiliar GP circuit and couldn’t crack the top 10, finishing 13th overall. Both riders remain focused and motivated as the series heads next to Loket in the Czech Republic on July 26–27.

Honda HRC battles through Donington challenges

13th July 2025: At Round 7 of the Superbike World Championship at Donington Park, Honda HRC’s Iker Lecuona secured a determined top-10 finish in Race 2, while teammate Xavi Vierge also added valuable points. Despite a challenging Superpole race—cut short for Lecuona due to a technical issue and a 13th-place finish for Vierge—both riders showed strong race pace in the longer second outing. Lecuona climbed to 10th after starting from 15th, while Vierge fought from 17th to 13th but was penalized one position for track limits. Both riders now sit tied in the championship, with Vierge seventh and Lecuona eighth overall. Honda test rider Tommy Bridewell, racing as a wildcard, unfortunately crashed out of Race 2 after finishing 18th in the sprint. The team now turns its focus to the next round at Hungary’s Balaton Circuit on July 25–27.
